The audio in Warzone 2 has remained a source of controversy and hatred. The audio fidelity in Warzone 2 has long attracted criticism, and now a Warzone YouTuber is claiming that the developers are lowering footsteps intentionally.
This debate caused even the original BR to receive criticism numerous times. As a result, numerous upgrades have been made over the years to improve different systems. To address the problems in the game, we even created instructions for the best audio settings.
But, a Warzone YouTuber named TheTacticalBrit claims that the developers may be intentionally making it difficult to hear steps instead of resolving the issue.
Even when an attacker is close by and fully rushing, the video developer clearly explains why it might be difficult to hear footsteps. Using a clip from Warzone streamer Zachdubs as an example, he showed how he was shot from behind despite three enemies nearby sprinting noisily.
The audio system in Warzone 2 requires some initial overview. According to the YouTuber, the game is based on a ducking system. The players hear a single master track into which all the other sound layers are funneled.
Since the game contains a variety of sounds, like footsteps, announcers, gunshots, and smoke, the game decides which audio will be louder than the others at any given moment.
The sound’s in-game source determines both its volume and direction. It will sound mild and originate from the north if there is an air attack far to the north.
Warzone’s attempt at relatively realistic audio creates a difficulty:
TheTacticalbrit displays repeated examples of gunfire, smoke, vehicles, and missile strikes either close by or far away, covering the sound of footsteps in his film.
Warzone isn’t a realistic game, as the YouTuber explains. In the battle royale, there are random errors like announcers, kill streaks, and airdrops, to mention a few. Nonetheless, the game promotes player hearing kill streaks, idle map sounds, and smokes over player hearing footsteps close to them.
TheTacticalbrit continued by saying the issue is a “very simple fix” for the devs. However, it’s unclear exactly how to repair it. We’ll have to see if that holds true.
The COD: Warzone Season 3 update was going to get a fix:
It’s important to note that the company initially addressed the poor audio quality of the footstep by saying that it was done on purpose to create a more genuine experience. The manufacturer thought footsteps should be far less audible than gunshots or explosions. Some individuals are not convinced by this explanation, though.
The COD: Warzone Season 3 update is almost approaching, but there are no indications that it will include a fix for the directional footstep audio problem. But, the business later had second thoughts.
A fix was being designed by the corporation and would be included in the Season 3 update, according to insiders and media invited to talks with Warzone programmers. The company has long since forgotten about that.
So, it appears that the anticipated remedy was delayed to enable other high-priority issues. However, the creators have yet to provide an official statement on this. As soon as new, important developments occur in the future, we will update this story on audio fidelity in Warzone 2.
