What Did the Creators Say?
The creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, announced back in 2022 that the fifth season would be the last one.
“Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but—as you’ll soon see for yourselves—we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.”
Release Date
We cannot say for sure when it will be released exactly. However, we can make assumptions based on previous seasons. Thus let us find out.
The earliest we can expect the final season is late 2023. But it might come in 2024 as well. The fourth season took two years to make. However, there was a pandemic going on. Hence that can explain the delay.

How the Season 5 will be?
You should be excited about season 5 a lot more than the previous seasons. Let us present you with a hint about how it is going to be according to one of the creators, Matt Duffer:
“Characters are already going to be in action, they’re already going to have a goal and a drive, and I think that’s going to carve out at least a couple hours and make this season feel really different,”
“I’m sure the wrap-up will be a lot longer; it’s going to be ‘Return of the King’-ish with, like, eight endings.”
Possibility of Spin-offs?
In a letter to their fans, the Duffer Brothers said:
“There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new, unexpected heroes.”
Hence this gives rise to the speculation there might be spin-offs in the future. However, we do not know for sure.
How Many Episodes will be There?
You can expect a total of 8 episodes. The title of the first episode will be “The Crawl.” Apart from the finale episode, the other episodes will be shorter in length.
