Keke Palmer, known for her role in “Nope,” recently secured a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson, amid harassment and abuse allegations. The former football player deleted traces of their relationship on Instagram in response.
In the restraining order request filed on Thursday, Palmer accused Jackson of trespassing into her home on Nov. 5 without consent, threatening her, and physically attacking her. She detailed a February 2022 incident where Jackson allegedly became violently jealous and physically aggressive over a bikini picture. Surveillance videos and screenshots were submitted as evidence. Jackson denies these allegations.
Who is Darius Jackson?
Little is known about Jackson’s early life, but he attended Fresno State University on a football scholarship. Before entering the entertainment world, he explored sports media and received a certificate in broadcasting. Jackson, also involved in fitness, briefly ventured into YouTube, and teased acting projects on Instagram. According to Us Weekly His YouTube channel, once reaching 19,000 followers, has since been taken down.
He is teased on Instagram a few acting projects, including “Dawn of the Predator.” Also according to his IMDb page, he appeared on a show called “Games People Play” in 2019.
Jackson is the brother of Sarunas Jackson, known for his role as Alejandro “Dro” Peña on Issa Rae’s hit HBO show “Insecure” from 2017 to 2021. Both brothers share a background in sports before transitioning into the entertainment industry.
Social Media Actions
Over the weekend, Jackson seemingly wiped most of his Instagram posts, including photos with their 8-month-old son. Currently, only three posts are visible, two featuring Jackson, and comments have been limited. Sharon, Palmer’s mother, called out Jackson and his brother on Instagram, alleging dismissive behavior towards concerns about Darius’ actions.
Past Controversies
This isn’t the first time Jackson faced social media backlash. In July, he criticized Palmer’s attire at Usher’s Las Vegas residency, prompting accusations of control. After receiving criticism, he temporarily made his account private. The couple, who began their relationship in June 2021, experienced an on-again, off-again dynamic, finally ending in October 2023.
A hearing for Palmer’s restraining order request is set for December 5. Jackson, also known as Darius Daulton, works in fitness and entertainment. Despite denying the abuse allegations, Palmer filed for full custody of their son, Leo.
Palmer and Jackson went Instagram-official in August 2021 but kept their relationship quiet initially. Reports of their breakup surfaced in August 2023, but Palmer confirmed in November that their relationship ended for good in October.
As the legal proceedings unfold, both parties continue to deal with the aftermath of a tumultuous relationship that has captured public attention.
