Amber Heard has dumped the attorney who defended her in her unsuccessful defamation trial with Johnny Depp as she now tries to appeal the verdict. Elaine Bredehoft, who represented the Aquaman actress in the six-week defamation trial, has parted ways with Heard. Attorney David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown, who represented The New York Times earlier this year in a defamation lawsuit against 2008 vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, will take over as the appeal proceeds.

According to Elaine Bredehoft, who is one of Amber Heard’s lawyers, her client is not asking for the $100 million she sued his ex-husband for, she said that it was all about sending a message to the actor who plays Jack Sparrow.
It seems that If you sue me for one, I will sue you for two “Johnny Depp sued for $50 million, and we sent a message back saying, ‘Fine, then we’re gonna sue for $100 million because look what you did to her.’ We’re not asking you to give $100 million,” lawyer Elaine Bredehoft told the jury when she addressed compensation. “We’re asking you to just look at the damages in this case and just be fair and reasonable in whatever you determine.”
