Disenchanted, is an American musical fantasy film directed by Adam Shankman and written by Brigitte Hales from a script by Richard LaGravenese, J. David Stem, and David N. Weiss. It’s the sequel to Enchanted, which was released in 2007 by Walt Disney Pictures, Josephson Entertainment, and Right Coast Productions. However, Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel return from the first film, with Gabriella Baldacchino filling in for Rachel Covey.
Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the film’s songs, are both back, and Menken also composed the score.
Locations for “Disenchantment” Filming
The film was shot in a variety of locations, including Ireland, England, California, and New York. The film’s production began on May 17, 2021, and ended in August of the same year.
The cast and crew returned for additional filming in March and April of 2022. So, without further ado, let’s have a look at the many sets that were used in the making of Disenchanted.
However, the production studio has transformed the small town of Enniskerry in the county into a massive fantasy-style kingdom.
Greystones, a little fishing village on the coast, and Wicklow, a larger metropolis, served as settings. Wicklow County, with its national parks, lakes, and rivers, is the last of Ireland’s original 32 counties.
Disney: Dublin- Ireland
In Dublin, Ireland’s capital and largest city, a few noteworthy sequences were observed. The city has already been used for filming projects such as The Count of Monte Cristo, Normal People, and Braveheart due to its ancient monuments and visual splendour.
Ireland: Louth and Kildare
In addition to County Wicklow and Dublin, several stunning locations in Ireland were chosen for the filming of Disenchanted, including the village of Louth and County Kildare. The Morristown Latin estate in County Kildare was heavily filmed, and actors and staff were observed there.
Disney: New York City
The “Disenchanted” crew had camped out in Manhattan, New York City, to film some exterior and aerial shots. However, New York Metropolis, sometimes known as “The Big Apple,” is the most populous city in the United States and is located in the state of New York’s southeastern region.
Los Angeles, California
They filmed some scenes in and around Los Angeles, the state’s most populous city, according to reports. However, the city is home to the renowned Hollywood sign and has been the setting for numerous films, including Avatar: The Way of Water, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, and Bullet Train.
England’s Buckinghamshire
However, Buckinghamshire hosted many of the film’s important reshoots. The scenes that had previously been shot in Enniskerry, Ireland, were reshot on a set built in the rural community of Hambleden, Buckinghamshire.
