Apple Replay is here to enchant us. It was officially launched on November 28, preceding Spotify Wrapped, the end-of-year feature of its competitor. Spotify originated the idea of providing a year-end overview of your most-listened-to music. However, Apple Music outpaced Spotify by unveiling its Apple Music Replay stats a complete day earlier. Data for Apple Music listeners was accessible starting on November 28.
Much like Spotify Wrapped caters to Spotify users, Apple Music Replay 2023 aggregates the listening data of Apple Music users throughout the year, this includes details on their top songs, artists, albums, and the total minutes spent listening.
Distinguishing itself from Spotify Wrapped, Apple Music Replay operates as a permanent feature within the Apple Music app, offering weekly updates throughout the year. However, today signifies the introduction of the more personalized Highlights summary. Users can easily share this summary on social media by tapping the share icon in the app’s bottom-right corner.
The recently introduced Highlights feature of Apple Music Replay can be accessed by visiting the Apple Music Replay website on your device: replay.music.apple.com. Upon reaching the page, users will encounter a Highlight Reel offering a comprehensive review of their 2023 Apple Music listening journey.
Like Spotify Wrapped, this summary encompasses key details such as the total duration spent listening to music, the top genre, leading artist, preferred album, and the most-played song. To access the Replay ’23 playlist on Apple Music throughout the year, go to Listen Now, scroll to Replay, tap Replay ’23, and hit the plus button. After that, find your Replay ’23 playlist in the Playlists section of your library.
Apple Music Replay compiles users’ year-in-review data and features global charts for the biggest song, album, and artist of 2023 on both Apple Music and Shazam. Taylor Swift earned the title of Apple Music’s Artist of the Year, setting a new all-time record for the highest number of listeners in a single year, according to Today.com.
Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” takes the lead as the top song 2023 on Apple Music Replay—the first country song to achieve this since “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X in 2019. Apple Music Replay’s global charts declare Morgan Wallen’s album “One Thing at a Time” as the top album 2023.
