The legal issues surrounding TakeOff may persist even after his passing. As reported by MyNewsLA.com, a sexual assault lawsuit filed against the late Migos rapper in August 2020 may proceed despite his death in November 2022. The plaintiff in the case is reportedly pursuing the possibility of having TakeOff’s mother replace her son as the defendant in the ongoing legal proceedings.
What Was the Assault Case?
Two years prior, the ex-Migos rapper faced sexual assault allegations from an anonymous woman. In her lawsuit, she asserted that the rapper assaulted her at a Los Angeles party, recounting advances made throughout the night. The distressing story involves him following her into a bedroom and forcing himself on her. While the narrative is detailed and traumatizing, its course was abruptly interrupted by the rapper’s untimely demise last year.
After months of legal uncertainty, the anonymous woman is taking her next step. She has requested the judge in the case to consider making Takeoff’s mother, Titiana Davenport, the defendant. Davenport currently serves as the administrator for the late rapper’s estate, overseeing potential financial obligations he might have had if the court had not ruled in his favour. A hearing is set for February of the coming year to decide whether Davenport will assume the role of the new defendant in the case.
In the comments of a recent post summarizing the case, fans express a range of opinions. Predictably, many rallied to the defence of the late rapper. In the top comments, there are expressions criticizing actions such as suing his mother for something her GROWN son might have allegedly done while alive, deeming it “the work of the Devil.” Additionally, there are remarks characterizing such actions as an “all-time LOW.”
