Don “SyykoNT” Muir, the Sentinels’ head coach, promised his squad wouldn’t be pressured before VCT LOCK/IN.
Being the team that defeated Sentinels in the grand final of the VCT 2021 Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavik, Sentinels will face a challenging test in the VCT LOCK/IN opening round.
Sentinels and 100 Thieves were the only North American teams left in the competition after Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, and NRG were eliminated at the Alpha Bracket’s conclusion. Yet, SyykoNT denied that this is why his team is under more pressure.
He told reporters during a press conference that “I don’t think any of us are feeling the pressure here.” We want to win Valorant Champions and enter the [VCT Masters] Tokyo. This is just the first stage of the procedure.
To prepare for the league when we return home, we’re attempting to gather as much experience as possible through team practice and fighting against international teams while we’re here.
A Significantly Higher Improved Sentinels Team
Many teams participating in VCT LOCK/IN are making their LAN debuts at the event in So Paulo. On the other hand, the Sentinels roster, which participated in the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational in Los Angeles last month, is different. In the four-team event, Sentinels placed third despite having minimal practice. The team has improved greatly since then, in SyykoNT’s opinion, and should provide a far better account itself.
He said we practiced for roughly four or five days before the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational. “It’s obvious that we’ve changed massively. We’ve had a full month to settle everyone in LA. We have significantly improved our communication and protocol setup, broken down language barriers with our Brazilian players, and begun to strengthen our strategic thinking.
“Thus far, I think we’ve done a terrific job. In these upcoming contests, I can’t wait to show our progress. SyykoNT continued, “I’m anticipating a difficult match-up with Fnatic, who added Leo ‘Leo’ Jannesson and Timofey ‘Chronicle’ Khromov during off,” adding that he intends to draw on the knowledge gained from defeating Fnatic when coaching XSET in the quarterfinals of Valorous Champions 2022.
They’re a fairly well-rounded team, according to SyykoNT of Fnatic. They finished fifth or sixth at Valorous Champions, just like XSET. Even though we defeated them head-to-head, we finished side by side.
“I have a huge amount of respect for those boys and great respect for Boaster, the caller. Identifying behaviors and actions are more important than focusing on deficiencies. We want to lean on a few things during the game since we know how these guys prefer to play and how Boaster prefers to play.
They are quite skilled. That will be a good game, probably the finest first-round game of the competition. Although it will be a challenging contest, we are quite confident.
Ending Up
So, at last, it’s obvious that the sentinels are not playing under any pressure; they want to win Valorant Champions. For further updates, stay tuned!
