Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald revealed Friday she had a septic miscarriage recently and needed to have surgery.
The 42-year-old explained in an Instagram video she and her husband Romain Bonnet, 29, were on their honeymoon in Bali. Earlier this year when she got pregnant, “and, unfortunately, that didn’t work out. And on top of the miscarriage,” she said she “also apparently had what they called a septic miscarriage, so I had to go in for surgery for that.”

A septic miscarriage happens when a woman develops an infection in the uterus. According to the Mayo Clinic, and can cause chills, fever, vaginal discharge, vaginal bleeding and a rapid heart rate. Surgery is then required to remove the cause of the infection.
“I guess the only reason why I’ve been silent for a long time — and the reason why I’m speaking out now — is because I do realise how common this is and how many people go through this,” she continued.
The reality TV star — already has a 28-year-old son named Austin. She went on to say that while it has been “rough,” there’s “still hope” and she will “keep trying” until she has “good news to share.”
Fitzgerald continued the positive thinking in her caption. She writes, “We won’t be giving up… and if this message speaks to you in any way or you are feeling down, helpless, alone… please know we are in this together. Hang in there…”
She said she would continue to share any news as they try to have a baby, “and we’re going to have very good news, very soon.”
The reality star reiterated she had promised to keep her fans updated on her fertility journey.

Mary shared her thoughts in her caption by writing, “It’s not always sunshine and butterflies, and that is ok. I wanted to share this in the hopes of letting others know they are not alone. I promised I would be truthful and keep you guys updated.”
When did Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet get married?
Mary and Romain tied the knot in the year 2018. The two lovebirds exchanged their vows in a secret civil ceremony in March 2018. All over a year before their nuptials were filmed on camera.
After almost 4 years, the pair finally jetted off to Bali for an ultra-luxe honeymoon. In the past, their honeymoon plans got delayed due to Covid-19.
