KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently opened up about the severity of his recent battle with the flu, leading to the cancellation of three shows on the band’s “End of the Road” farewell tour. The rock legend, who returned to the stage in Indianapolis, shared insights during a pre-show soundcheck and Q&A session.
Stanley, known for his resilience during various health challenges throughout his career, acknowledged, “I’ve done shows with cracked ribs, I’ve done shows with a 102 [degree] fever.” However, the recent flu left him contemplating the gravity of the situation, stating, “I was wondering if it was my time.”
Expressing gratitude for his recovery, Stanley affirmed, “I’m here and it’s awesome.” The iconic rock band is now gearing up for the final shows of their farewell tour on December 1st and 2nd at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Toronto And Ottawa… I’ve done everything possible to get onstage and be a part of the incredible 2 1/2 hour celebration we planned but this flu has made it impossible. I along with Gene, Tommy and Eric couldn’t be more disappointed and send our deepest apologies. pic.twitter.com/6RmgbeiqoV

Despite the cancellation of three recent shows in Ottawa, Toronto, and Knoxville, with the flu, these dates are not expected to be rescheduled due to their proximity to the tour’s conclusion. KISS fans can anticipate a KISS “takeover” in New York City during the weekend, including a pop-up store, a Rangers game, free tattoos, pizza, Metro Cards, and more.
Paul Stanley’s openness about his health scare adds a human touch to the farewell tour, emphasizing the challenges performers face as they bid farewell to the stage. As KISS prepares for their historic final shows, the three canceled dates — Ottawa, Ontario (November 21st), Toronto (November 22nd), and Knoxville, Tennessee (November 24th) are not expected to be rescheduled but the fans eagerly await the culmination of a legendary career.
