Paul Rudd, the now famous personality for playing the role of the Ant-Man, has now spoken up about his diet for the superhero role. Describing it as “horrible” and “restrictive,” Rudd expressed that his preparation for “The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” was quite disheartening. The actor, aged 54, recently lamented the challenges of his physical preparation for the role.
During his appearance on the comedy food podcast “Off Menu,” Rudd revealed that his nutrition plan for achieving the Marvel physique was so rigorous that his treat would be sparkling water.
He mentioned that during the training for the ‘Ant-Man’ movie, while on a highly restrictive diet, his reward was sparkling water. He further added that the diet was so restrictive, and his perspective was, “Alright, I can have some sparkling water now; I’ve earned it.” Adding further details, he claimed that the water lacked flavour.
Later, he also mentioned that he became accustomed to training for all the films in which he has portrayed Ant-Man. He stated that once you’re in it, it’s not too hard. He jokingly commented that he had worked out harder than anyone, would eat better than everyone, and looked worse than all of them. He added that he had to work out all the time, and eat perfectly, just to look kind of bad, not even great.
Rudd has taken the lead in three Ant-Man movies, including this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which received mixed reviews. Fortunately, he mentions that the training becomes “not too hard” once you’re immersed in it. However, despite almost a decade in the role, he still feels like he can’t compete with the likes of the Chrises and others.
