The COVID 19 pandemic has swept all over the world, forcing people to stay at home for safety. It is affecting not only physical health but mental health as well. The mental health issues are actually seen in more number of youth as per a survey done by the International Labour Organisation. Because of the daily tragic news of the COVID 19, the youth are facing manic depression and anxiety. It is taking a toll on the minds of youth.
The youth population all over the world are suffering from feelings of anxiety and depression. Many youth are uncertain of their future which causes them anxiety and depression. The organization also shared that if treatment is not given at the proper time the mental health of the youth will get impacted permanently. So this has now become a serious issue.
What affects the youth’s mental-health?
The mental wellbeing of the youth is in jeopardy because of the pandemic as it has limited their access to education, work, and other employments they enjoyed before. The pandemic has forced the youth to stay at homes and because of that, they are not able to meet their friends and relatives which is also the reason that affects their mental health.
Staying positive throughout the pandemic
Because of the survey, we are aware of the immediate problem at hand. So parents have the responsibility to help their children get through this pandemic. Stay positive as a family and spend time together doing wholesome activities to improve mental health. That is the only thing which can help our youth to stay mentally-fit.
