Mark Cuban, the billionaire businessman and Shark Tank star, announced that his time on the ABC series is coming to an end. At 65, he shared on the All the Smoke podcast that after the upcoming 16th season, he won’t be returning.
Cuban, who joined the show full-time in the third season after a guest appearance in season 2, expressed that he feels “it’s time” to move on. While he firmly stated that season 16 would be his last, the network has not yet confirmed his departure. His insights were very valuable, especially for the show.
Mark Cuban expressed his gratitude for the impact of Shark Tank, stating,
“I love it because it sends the message the American dream is alive and well.”
He emphasized the show’s role in inspiring generations of entrepreneurs, sharing stories of individuals coming from various places to showcase their businesses on Shark Tank.
Cuban, reflecting on his years on the show, mentioned the satisfaction of helping numerous companies and the joy of seeing the younger generation inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit. The family also plays an important role. At the same time, it has a lot of potential.
Cuban shared his insights as a Shark on Shark Tank, highlighting that a good pitch focuses on the business rather than a lengthy backstory. He emphasized that the harder someone tries to sell, the worse the deal and a lengthy backstory doesn’t necessarily make a business more appealing.
Cuban preferred concise pitches highlighting the uniqueness of the business and what makes it stand out. Ultimately, he looks for ideas that make him think, “Damn, why didn’t I think of that?” But now Mark is free and can focus on a lot of things in his spare time.
