Kurt Cobain note: why did he die? Did he attempt suicide, or was he murdered? You’ll get to know about all these things here in this post. So, read further to know about the life of Kurt Cobain.
Let’s Start with Who Kurt Cobain was!
Know About Kurt Cobain
Kurt Cobain, a featured guitarist, songwriter, artist, and lead vocalist, was part of the American grunge rock band Nirvana. Nirvana is one of the most popular bands of all time.
Kurt was born on February 20, 1967. Throughout his life, he suffered from intense pain because of his undiagnosed chronic stomach disease. He also struggled with depression, was prone to drunkenness, and frequently used narcotics and inhalants.
Additionally, Cobain has bipolar disorder. After taking excessive pills, people took Kurt to the hospital in Rome on March 3, 1994. To save his reputation, Kurt’s management company, Gold Mountain Records, claimed that the overdose was unintentional.
Also, he asked people not to meet him now as he was sick with the illness. Later, we learned from Courtney Love, Kurt’s wife, that he intentionally took around 50 pills and attempted suicide. Following this, one of Kurt’s cousins, Beverly, a nurse, revealed that earlier, his two uncles had killed themselves with a gun.
Kurt further said that during Nirvana’s 1991 European tour, his stomach pain was so intense that he was not able to bear that. He wanted to end his life as the pain was outrageous.
He carried the heroine with him, thinking that was probably the only way to save his life. Kurt chose to be very quiet; he was in his own space in those days. He also avoided interacting with other people.
The Demise of Kurt Cobain
On March 31, 1994, Kurt checked out of the Exodus Recovery Center, a rehab center he had entered a day prior. He ran away from that rehab to his home in Seattle. Cobain’s mother filed his missing report.
However, he was hiding in his garage or the greenhouse just above it as he knew that no one would ever check that place and look out for him there. Between 4 and 5 April, Kurt was high on drugs, writing a letter while sitting in the greenhouse, and eventually shooting him with a gun.
Smith, a worker with VECA Electric, arrived on April 8 to put in security lighting. When Kurt didn’t respond for a long time, he found Kurt’s dead body in the greenhouse over the garage at his Lake Washington Boulevard East residence.
Before noticing blood flowing from Kurt’s ear, T.Smith thought the musician was taking a nap. Smith also discovered a Kurt Cobain note inside a flower pot.
A Look into Kurt Cobain’s Suicide Note
Kurt Cobain’s note was written to Boddah. He was Cobain’s imaginary buddy from childhood. The text on the suicide note was in red ink. The handwriting appeared sloppy and hasty in the second part, and some words were unclear. Kurt praised and adored his beautiful wife in the second half of the note.
Additionally, according to Kurt Cobain’s admirers, his wife, Courtney Love, forged the second half of the musician’s suicide note. Just before Kurt’s death, there were rumors that they decided to get divorced.
So, Kurt’s fans thought Courtney had faked the other half of the letter. She wrote good things about her to avoid the cop’s suspect list.
But did this work?
The change in handwriting was pure speculation. At that time, Kurt’s fans wanted to know whether Kurt Cobain’s death was a suicide or a murder by his wife!!
Did his Wife Forge Kurt Cobain’s Suicide Note?
The 2015 film Soaked In Bleach offers a very unsettling rebuttal to the conventional wisdom of Cobain’s suicide. Tom Grant serves as the primary narrator of the movie, focusing on his last few days.
Love wrote the film’s creators a cease and desist letter, but she hasn’t yet filed a lawsuit. This choice of hers has benefited conspiracy theorists. They view it as a clever move on her side to prevent herself from disclosing any obscene information concerning Cobain’s passing.
The producers asserted that Courtney Love’s erroneous claims and attempts to attack the movie were completely baseless. Courtney Love and her attorneys don’t appreciate that the movie makes a strong argument for reopening the inquiry into Kurt’s death.
In a previous documentary, Kurt & Courtney, Tom Grant said Love only asked him to look into the case so she wouldn’t be considered a suspect. According to his belief, Love killed Cobain in a plot hatched.
Further, the cops should reopen the case and investigate his death deeply. The documentary also features El Duce, a punk singer, who discusses the couple’s drug addiction.
El Duce continues, saying that Love paid him $50,000 to kill Kurt. He claimed to know who ultimately killed Kurt but would “let the FBI capture him.” However, after the release of this interview, the media declared El dead in a train accident.
In contrast, this plot didn’t persuade Carole Chaski, a forensic linguist. Her findings on the House Of Mystery Radio Show “do not verify the conspiracy notion that Courtney created the bottom half to make it look like a Kurt Cobain note.”
On a Concluding Note
Love read Kurt Cobain’s note to all of his passionate followers at Kurt’s funeral in Seattle.
After 27 years, someone released his death photographs to the media. This, somewhere shattered people and his fans as these pictures were heartbreaking. Kurt Cobain’s death is still a mystery to all of us!
While intriguing, the conspiracy theories cannot erase the fact that Kurt died, either committed suicide or someone murdered him. At the very least, his protracted drug usage and melancholy, along with a personal suicide note left nearby, provide rather strong evidence for suicide.
