A really sad thing happened in Salem, Massachusetts on a Sunday evening. A 20-year-old person passed away in a car crash. It was a single-car accident on Puritan Road, and the police came around 6:20 p.m.
The person driving, Kory Ouellette, didn’t make it through the crash. Currently, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team are figuring out the details of what happened.

While driving, Kory Ouellette had a car crash on Puritan Road in Salem, Massachusetts. The car, which was blue, ended up in the hedges of a home along the road. The windshield had a big hole in it, showing that there was a strong impact. Unfortunately, Kory Ouellette didn’t make it due to the injuries from the crash.

Born in 2003 in Salem, Massachusetts, Kory Ouellette was an amazing ice hockey player who really made a mark in the sport. He’s from the lively city of Salem, and he got into hockey when he was pretty young. He was really good and always worked hard to get even better. He quickly moved up in the local youth leagues.
Because of his talent and how much he cared, he became a big deal in ice hockey and made Salem, Massachusetts, and the whole hockey community proud. But, sadly, Kory Ouellette lost his life on a Sunday night because of a car crash. His car hit a fence in a peaceful neighbourhood in Salem, Massachusetts.
Former High School Hockey Star Kory Ouellette Remembered as “Huge Heart”
Kory Ouellette graduated from St. Mary’s in Lynn in 2021. If you look at his Instagram, you’ll see lots of pics from when he played ice hockey for the school’s team.
He joined the team when he was in eighth grade, and he was part of the 2016-2017 crew that won a Division 1 state title, according to coach Mark Lee. Lee mentioned that even though Kory was a defenseman, he was pretty good at offense too.
He even scored some really important goals for his team and the program over the years. Lee had nice things to say about Kory, calling him a “great kid” with a “huge heart.” He cared about everyone, and he had so much energy that you could tell when he was around.

Salem – Kory Adam Ouellette, 20, from Salem, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 27th, 2023 due to injuries from a car accident in Salem. Kory was brought up in Salem by getting all the love and care of Steven and Maureen (O’Leary) Ouellette.
He grew up and went to school in Salem, starting at Witchcraft Heights Elementary School. Later, he studied at St. Mary’s Junior High School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
Kory played soccer and then switched to baseball, where he won many tournaments with his Liner friends. He was part of Salem’s only Little League District Championship team and also played for the Lynn American Legions’ State Championship baseball team.
Kory even played varsity baseball at St. Mary’s. But hockey was his real passion. He was on lots of teams, won tournaments, and made lifelong friends. He had a special love for playing with the Boston Knights.
Kory had a big personality and loved making people laugh. He was quick-witted and fun-loving, a true “teammate” in life. He’ll be remembered for his unique, loving nature.
