Sancho is eager for the Dortmund deal to go through, seeing it as the perfect opportunity to get back on track. Manchester United may need to bring in a replacement winger, with Olise being considered a potential target. Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund could be a fresh start for him to rebuild his career and regain his form.
The Red Devils made a strong effort to bring Sancho to the Premier League while he was playing for the Bundesliga giants, but it has not worked out for him at Old Trafford. An England international was frozen out under Erik ten Hag, so it is possible that the winger for Manchester United will make his way back to Borussia Dortmund during the January transfer window. Journalist Dean Jones has given GIVEMESPORT an internal update on the situation.
Ten Hag needs to find a solution, as he has not played for the Manchester team since September. But his £250k-a-week salary package is probably a turnoff for many clubs in Europe, and they will also be hoping to recoup a portion of the £73m they paid Dortmund to get him.
Sancho is on his way to Dortmund
When ten Hag told the media that Sancho was not working hard enough at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground, the winger responded by calling himself a “scapegoat” in a since-deleted social media post. The issue is still open, and neither party is willing to back down or apologize, which seems to have led to Sancho’s likely departure.
Now that ten Hag and Sancho have fallen out, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has told GIVEMESPORT that it could be a deal that suits all parties. With Sancho getting regular playing time while his value could increase, United has the opportunity to sign a loan deal with Dortmund, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. Sancho is said to be eager to move, and the negotiations are now in United’s hands.
After his career’s greatest football was created in the Bundesliga, Sancho’s move makes sense for the England international. Although his progress has stalled recently, this is an opportunity for him to start again at a team where he is known to be comfortable and capable of winning.
Dean Jones: Dortmund is Sancho’s top priority
According to Jones, who is speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Sancho is desperate for this Dortmund deal to go through because he sees it as a chance to get his career back on track after a challenging few years. The journalist goes on to say that he does not think there is a way back for him at United as long as Ten Hag is still in charge.
Erik ten Hag desires an alternative
Sancho has not played much in the first team this season, so it would not be too urgent to sign a replacement. However, players like Antony and Marcus Rashford have not played well enough, so finding a new winger could be a priority. According to the Evening Standard, Michael Olise of Crystal Palace is on United’s list, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is eager to make his first acquisition since joining Old Trafford.
A January move is unlikely, but they could make a summer move. Olise only signed a new four-year contract in August, but it has a release clause that expires at the end of the current campaign.
