Right now, in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), there are many talented young women. One of these talented women is Indi Hartwell. She has been in WWE for almost four years. She won the NXT Women’s Tag title with Candice LeRae. Some people know her because of her romantic storyline on the NXT show. Now, she’s on WWE Raw. Many fans are curious about her personal life, especially after her on-screen romance with another NXT star, which we’ll talk about later in this post.
Who is Indi Hartwell?
Before we talk about Indi Hartwell’s relationship status, let’s first introduce her to those who might not know her. Samantha De Martin, born on August 17, 1996, is a professional wrestler from Australia. In 2024, she’s part of WWE, performing on Raw as Indi Hartwell. She held the NXT Women’s Champion title once and also the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion title with Candice LeRae. She used to be part of a group called The Way. Before joining WWE, De Martin wrestled in Australia for promotions like Riot City Wrestling and World Series Wrestling, where she won titles such as the RCW Women’s Champion and WSW Women’s Champion.
De Martin started training when she was 19 at the Professional Championship Wrestling (PCW) Academy in Melbourne. She debuted in March 2016 in Australia and worked for various promotions such as Melbourne City Wrestling, Shimmer, Rise, Riot City Wrestling, and World Series Wrestling.
Indi Hartwell had her first NXT match in 2020. On the RAW show on April 20, 2020, Indi Hartwell fought against Shayna Baszler in a one-on-one match. Hartwell lost to Baszler, who was really strong, so it wasn’t a memorable match. After that, Hartwell did really well in the development brand. But it wasn’t until 2023 when she got moved up to the main roster officially.
In January 2024, Hartwell participated in the Royal Rumble match, entering at number 6 but was eliminated by Bayley. At Elimination Chamber: Perth pre-show, Hartwell and LeRae challenged The Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship but lost.
Indi Hartwell’s Real Relationship Status
What’s going on with Indi Hartwell’s love life? Right now, she isn’t dating anyone. In professional wrestling, it’s common for wrestlers to pretend to be in relationships to entertain the audience. Some people thought Indi Hartwell was really married to WWE RAW Superstar Dexter Lumis because of their on-screen romance. But actually, their wedding on screen was just part of the show. Dexter Lumis said in an interview that it was all just acting, or “kayfabe,” as they say in wrestling.
Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis played a couple on screen and even got married in the NXT show. But we don’t know much about Indi Hartwell’s real love life. She keeps her personal life private, just like her character in wrestling. On social media, she even uses the name “Mrs. Lumis,” like she’s really married to Dexter Lumis. But that’s just part of the act. Outside of the wrestling world, it seems like Indi Hartwell might be single. She doesn’t talk much about who she’s dating, if anyone. There was a rumor that she dated another wrestler named Tome Filip in the past, but nothing is confirmed. So, as of now, we don’t know if Indi Hartwell is in a real relationship.
What’s happening with them in WWE?
Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis are a couple in WWE. Recently, they’ve been showing some romantic moments on TV. On NXT Heatwave, Hartwell got a letter from Lumis, her on-screen husband. In the letter, there was a drawing that said ‘InDex Forever.’ Then, in August 2022, Lumis surprised Hartwell by coming out of the ring to hug her and say goodbye.
Right now, Lumis, who is 40 years old, is busy with a storyline involving The Miz and Johnny Gargano. Lumis had a match against The Miz in a Ladder Match. During the match, Bronson Reed returned and helped The Miz by attacking Lumis.
On the other hand, Indi Hartwell doesn’t have any major storylines. She recently won an Iron Survivor Challenge Wild Card Triple Threat match in December 2022. But her last match on the show was a loss to Elektra Lopez on December 14.
