We have seen his performance in films like Black Hawn Dawn, Ella Enchanted, Shooting Dogs, and some others. In addition, he has also worked in some prominent tv series and this very fact has made him even more prominent.
We know that Hugh portrayed leading characters in projects like Hannibal and The Path. Moreover, has made recurring appearances in Homeland and The Good Fight. Now, there is a new feather on his cap, as he gets picked for Law & Order series. To put it in simple terms, he is now a part of the cast for this series. Therefore, if you wish to know more about this issue, then this article is the perfect stop for you.
Hugh As Nolan Price In Law & Order
We already know that Hugh Dancy is now a part of the cast for Law & Order. The cast also includes the likes of Jeffery Donovan, Camryn Manheim, Mehcad Brooks, and others. However, Hugh will be portraying the character of Nolan Price. In the series, Price is an Executive Assistant District Attorney, who works under Jack McCoy, the District Attorney.
As a character Price is very interesting. He is a former defence attorney. What is more interesting about him is his stance on the anti-death penalty. In fact, before getting hired by the prosecution, he served the innocence project. Hugh recently spoke about the character in detail.
Dancy’s Take On Price’s Profession
Recently, speaking about the character he will portray in Law & Order, Dancy had something unique to say about Price. He stated that we commonly find people making a switch to defence law from that of prosecution. The main moving factor in this case, as Dancy says, is money. However, we do not find many people moving the world of prosecution from the world of defence.
Pointing to the switch of Price from being a defence attorney to the post of an Executive Assistant District Attorney, Dancy stated that it is a matter of principles. According to him, the character is interested to get justice for victims, rather than defending the accused.
Price’s Bias
In the series, we find Price’s Bias when Rachel gets murdered. Incidentally, Rachel is a public defender and also a friend of Price. This makes him too involved in the case and at times, that also means compromising the case. When asked about this issue, Dancy stated that Price’s act of caring too much for Rachel actually shows that he cares for those people, who care for others.
He also stated that Price perhaps considered that he was the best person to get involved in the case as Rachel mattered to him the more. Therefore, he willingly stepped into the case knowing full well that he could compromise with the same. Adding more to it, Dancy stated that Price never likes to get weak inside the court.
Concluding Lines
Therefore, Dancy is very supportive of Price and seems that he is enjoying his time as the character. In fact, he also stated that the idea to get Claire in for a guest appearance in the series would be a ‘nice’ one.
