1. Check The Water Quality
Generally hard water with high amounts of calcium and magnesium leads to faster corrosion of pipes. It’s important to look for the pH of water as low pH (acidic water) can corrode the pipes easily. Additionally, check for the average temperature of water in your area. Water that is warmer can significantly increase chances of pipe corrosion as it has more CO2 dissolved. 2. Add A Protective Coating Layer
Many times the pipes are made of PVC or steel. PVC doesn’t react as easily as steel does. Stainless steel is a good material which doesn’t corrode easily. Yet, it is always advisable to add a coating layer on it. Coating reduces corrosion speed and intensity as it reacts first, keeping the steel safer.
