Fox News host Sean Hannity advised pop sensation Taylor Swift to reconsider endorsing President Biden for the 2024 re-election bid during his recent show. Hannity expressed concerns about Biden’s perceived lack of energy and referred to him as a “stumbling, bumbling mess” who might not match Swift’s level of vitality, questioning if Biden could even deliver a 30-minute speech, let alone perform a three-hour concert like Swift.
Hannity also alluded to online videos portraying Biden as “creepy” and suggested that Swift should check them out before making any endorsement decisions. These comments were highlighted by Mediaite, bringing attention to Hannity’s cautionary message.
The Fox News host’s remarks come amidst a right-wing conspiracy theory suggesting that the NFL is rigging games to favor the Kansas City Chiefs, the team Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, plays for. The conspiracy claims that Democrats are manipulating the Super Bowl to draw attention to Swift and encourage her to endorse Biden.
Swift, who has not yet announced support for any 2024 candidate, has been politically active in the past. In 2018, she supported Democrat Phil Bredesen in the Tennessee Senate race and endorsed Biden a month before the 2020 election.
Hannity accused Swift of harbouring negative perceptions about Republicans, attributing it to misinformation about conservatives. He challenged stereotypes, stating that beliefs about Republicans being racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic, and supporting environmental degradation and abortion bans are untrue.
The Fox News host advised Swift to reconsider her decision before the 2024 elections, suggesting that she might be influenced by false narratives. Hannity’s cautionary words reflect the importance of thorough consideration before making political endorsements, especially given Swift’s influential status.
A recent New York Times story revealed that the Biden campaign is keen on securing a coveted endorsement from Swift, recognizing her widespread popularity as a music and entertainment icon. As the political landscape continues to evolve, Swift’s potential endorsement remains a subject of interest for both fans and political observers alike.
