The ensemble cast in this film is made up of a mix of actors, some of whom have appeared in previous films of the horror franchise, and others who are new to the series. Scream 6, the sixth movie in the popular horror series boasts a talented ensemble cast that includes both familiar faces from earlier films and fresh talents who have joined the group, all of whom portray characters who could potentially be the mysterious Ghostface killer.
Following the successful revival of the franchise with the 2022 movie simply titled “Scream,” directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the duo returned to helm the next instalment. It’s quite important that because of a conflict over salary, this is the first film in Scream franchise the that doesn’t highlight Neve Campbell repeating her job as Sidney Prescott. However, this film reintroduces a host of other familiar characters.
The Scream 6 cast includes actors who joined the ensemble in the 2022 requel, such as Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, as well as performers from earlier Scream movies, including Courteney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, and, notably, Roger L. Jackson, who provides the chilling voice of Ghostface over the phone. The cast of the film is one of the largest ever assembled for the series.
Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter
She returns to portray her character Sam Carpenter in this film a role she initially played in the previous Scream film. Sam is depicted as the daughter of the original Ghostface killer, Billy Loomis, and she embodies the archetype of the “final girl,” drawing parallels to the character Sidney.
Melissa Barrera’s career began with appearances in telenovelas such as “Siempre tuya Acapulco” and “Tanto amor.” She later took on the supporting role of Vanessa in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s film adaptation of “In the Heights” and played the lead role of Liv Rivera in the Netflix series “Keep Breathing.” Barrera’s performances in “Keep Breathing” and the Scream franchise have earned her the recognition and title of a “scream queen.”
Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin
She returns to her role as Mindy Meeks-Martin, which she initially portrayed in the previous Scream film. Mindy is depicted as the twin sister of Chad and the niece of Randy Meeks, a horror enthusiast who appeared in the first two Scream movies.
Similar to her uncle, Mindy has a deep passion for horror cinema. Jasmin Savoy Brown is widely recognized for her portrayal of Evangeline Murphy in HBO’s dystopian drama “The Leftovers,” her role as Allison Adams in ABC’s legal drama “For the People,” and her portrayal of a young Taissa Turner in Showtime’s psychological thriller series “Yellowjackets.”
Additionally, she lent her voice and performed motion capture for the character Phin Mason, also known as the Tinkerer, in the video game “Spider-Man: Miles Morales.”
Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin
He reprises his character as Chad Meeks-Martin, who is Randy’s nephew and Mindy’s twin brother. Unlike Mindy, Chad doesn’t share many similarities with Randy.
Mason Gooding, the son of actor Cuba Gooding, Jr., made his debut in the film industry with the role of Nick Howland in Olivia Wilde’s coming-of-age high school comedy “Booksmart,” where he starred alongside Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever.
He also had a recurring role as Parker Jones in the HBO sports dramedy series “Ballers” and took on the lead role of Andrew Spencer in Hulu’s streaming spin-off “Love, Victor,” which is based on the movie “Love, Simon.”
