In a recent interview with Patch, attorney Randolph Rice, representing the family of the tragic Maryland mom Rachel Morin, has issued a stern warning to the public about a dangerous killer still at large. Rice believes that the perpetrator could be anyone, possibly blending into the crowd and engaging in a sinister practice he terms “side-stalking.”
The attorney advises people to be extra cautious and observant of their surroundings. If someone notices the same individual in different places, Rice suggests not dismissing it as a coincidence. Instead, he encourages taking a photo with a phone and promptly reporting it to the sheriff’s office or their attorney. Vigilance, he emphasizes, is crucial for personal safety and the well-being of families, as the killer could be someone seemingly harmless standing right beside you.
The unsettling case unfolded when Rachel Morin was discovered dead on August 6, along the Ma and Pa Heritage Trail. Her boyfriend reported her missing after she failed to return from a run on the trail. Subsequent investigations revealed a chilling connection as the DNA found at the crime scene matched a man suspected of breaking into a Los Angeles home and assaulting a young girl in March.
The suspect, captured on security footage, is described as a Hispanic male in his early to mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing around 160 pounds. Authorities are actively working to identify him, seeking the public’s help in bringing justice to Rachel Morin’s case.
Despite the ongoing tragedy, Morin’s family, including her five children, ranging from 8 to 18 years old, is doing their best to cope. Morin’s mother, Patty, shared poignant memories of Rachel’s love for holidays and the family’s cherished traditions. The heartbroken family is grappling with the loss, emphasizing the importance of supporting one another during this difficult time.
To encourage cooperation and information sharing, law enforcement in Hartford is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any leads that lead to the suspect’s arrest. Individuals with relevant information are urged to contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office at 410-836-7788 or send tips via email to RMTIPS@harfordsheriff.org.
As the community remains on edge, staying vigilant and sharing information is crucial in the quest for justice and ensuring the safety of everyone.
