The apps like Google Drive and Google photos have helped many people to store essential data likes photos and documents. Many more get added each day. This is offering good storage experience for users. Furthermore, they can take the stored files anytime from the tools and use them. It is also easy to search for the files from these tools even though it has lots of data. But Google is going to make some major changes in these tools.
Google wants to continue helping people to store their data. To offer great storage experience for the users, the accounts which are inactive for a long time may get deleted by the company. This will enable them to invest more in developing the apps. These new storage rules will be applicable for the apps like Drive that contains sheets, docs, drawings, forms and more.
The accounts that are inactive for more than twenty-four months may have to make it active again or else their files may get deleted. But Google may not start the work immediately. They will begin the process from June 1, 2021. So there is enough time for all the users to try and save their files which they may not have peeked for many years.

The simplest way to avoid getting our files deleted is by visiting the apps like Google Drive, Gmail, Google Photos and others daily. The users also have to make sure they have signed in to the accounts. But we do not need to stress about the issue because Google will give warnings before it does anything. It will not put all the files on the trash immediately without telling the users.
Google already has the feature of deleting contents of the users if they have not viewed it for many months. It is the Inactive Account Manager feature that helps the user to ask Google to delete the files that are in the storage for a long time without use. The user can turn on the feature to delete the files they do not need.
