Susan Deixler spoke about her happiness for her Ex-husband when he broke up his homosexual relationship. Although her Ex-husband has publicly admitted he is gay, he had some romances with high-profile women.
In the 1970s, Barry Manilow was linked with women like Melissa Manchester and Lorna Luft. But before then, he was already married. His high school sweetheart became his wife when she was 19. He called her a perfect wife in his autobiography. But he left her after only a year of marriage to begin a musical adventure.
Manilow married Garry Kief last April in a small ceremony. The news only broke recently as they quietly celebrated their first anniversary. As a friend said, Kief is a ‘Svengali’ who has pushed Manilow’s friends out of his life. Kieff feared marriage would hurt the singer’s fan base. He only agreed to the commitment ceremony because of Manilow’s declining health. The notoriously private Manilow was outed in a 2002 biography. He has never commented on his sexuality.
Barry Manilow’s ex-wife spoke for the first time since the divorce, saying,
“I wish him well. I’m happy for him. I’m glad that he’s found love and happiness.”
She continued saying that what happened between them has become ancient history. She does not want to dig that out again. She prefers her life as a non-celebrity and is happy with her children and family.
The ex-wife has spoken about her happiness at the news. She knows about this. Deixler was just 19 when she married Manilow, her high school sweetheart at Eastern District High School, in Brooklyn, New York. Although her Ex-husband has publicly admitted he is gay, he had some romances with high-profile women. Presently, Kief had a commitment ceremony because of Manilow’s declining health.
