Despite rumors that TSM will sell its LCS seat and stop other esports expenditures, founder and CEO TSM Reginald stated that the organization still intends to participate in CS: GO later this year and the arrival of the CSGO team.
With the March release of Counter-Strike 2, interest in the series and its professional scene significantly increased. The beta window demonstrated that the sequel could be a worthy replacement, with the original CS: GO shattering this all-player record and the sequel attracting hundreds of thousands of people on Twitch.
The CS: GO, Fall Major was canceled due to the switch, but the beta also brought the news that Valve will be concentrating more on Counter Strike 2’s competitive scene. Esports organizations have therefore had to change with the times.
High-profile workers left TSM as part of a firm reorganization, one organization that has lately undergone substantial adjustments. According to TSM CEO Andy ‘Reginald’ Dinh, the wave of layoffs was caused by the company’s “too rapid expansion.”
Reginald has now commented on a report that TSM may sell its LCS place and cease certain other esports activities. Reginald appeared to confirm the claim by assuring fans that TSM is dedicated to esports and had information to give regarding the company’s focus.
TSM is planning to invest heavily in CS:GO:
TSM’s previous VP of Esports Operation Dominic Kallas indicated that the organization wanted to return to competitive CS:GO in late 2022. Though it has been a while since then, Valve’s CS2 announcements made fans question if that was still an option.
On April 1, 2023, TSM Reginald posted on Twitter in response to the latest reports and to assess the company’s position in Counter-Strike. He wrote, “TSM is dedicated to esports. According to our plans, we’re going to invest more in CS:GO than we have in the agreed amount of all the titles we’ve left this year.
He continued by assuring the audience that TSM was constantly analyzing which games were the best investments and that they would continue to join and exit games as the environments changed. TSM expects to have a squad of players ready to go at some point this year if Kallas’ claims are accurate.
When he first made his initial prediction, he said there was a chance the lineup would be prepared before the BLAST Major qualifiers, but that didn’t happen. TSM Reginald has guaranteed the CS:GO audience that Team Solo Mid will participate in the competition later this year.
