Who is Mauricio Pochettino?
Mauricio Pochettino is an Argentinian men’s professional football manager and former professional footballer. The 51-year-old was born in Murphy, Argentina, in March 1972, and throughout his career, he played as a centre-back for several clubs.
His senior career began in 1989, when he played for Newell’s Old Boys, until 1994, when he joined Espanyol. He played for PSG between 2001 and 2003, Bordeaux from 2003 to 2004, and then back to Espanyol from 2004 to 2006 before finally hanging up his boots for good.
Pochettino made his international debut for the senior team in March 1999 in a friendly match against the Netherlands, which ended in a 1-1 draw. His managerial career didn’t get underway for another ten years when he took the helm at Espanyol in 2009 until 2013.
In 2013, he joined English Premier League side Southampton before joining Tottenham Hotspur in 2014. He stayed with Spurs until 2019, and then his next managerial role was at Paris Saint-Germain from 2021-2022.
Which club is Pochettino rumoured to join next?
