Everyone’s infatuated with Baby Yoda, aka Grogu, a tiny alien creature. “The Mandalorian”‘s title hero raised it in Djarin (Pedro Pascal). Also, that includes the toddler daughter of Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan on the show (and in the “Clone Wars” and “Rebels” animated series). So, Sackhoff talks to POPSUGAR about her daughter’s over-the-top love of Grogu. As working with Pascal, and Bo-Katan’s journey in season three.
Sackhoff shares 15-month-old Ginevra Grace with her husband, Robin Gadsby. She’s a little young to start her official Star Wars viewing journey. Also, Sackhoff plans to show her the very first movie when she can.
Sackhoff also loves Grogu and filming scenes with the puppet on set
As her daughter’s other favourite character, she confesses, it is a little odder. The villainous Darth Maul made his devious debut in 1999’s “The Phantom Menace.” “She hugs and kisses him. It’s a little unnerving,” she says. “Then she flips right to Yoda and then she goes and grabs her baby Grogu doll and hugs him”. Her daughter also has a Star Wars pillow with a repeating pattern of characters. Moreover, she loves to point at the creatures and identify them.
However, Sackhoff also praises her non-puppet co-stars, including Pascal. “Pedro’s amazing. I love all of the success that is coming to him. She adds that “The Mandalorian ” is very much a team effort: two other actors played the role of Din. Besides Pascal, Sackhoff credits the stunt people who bring Bo-Katan to life, too.
How old is Baby Yoda? Here’s what to know about Grogu
Grogu, colloquially called Baby Yoda. It became a fan favourite after the release of “The Mandalorian”. With Season 3’s premiere on March 1, there may be some lingering questions about the green creature.
Baby Yoda is 50 years old at the beginning of “The Mandalorian”. Though his age seems old, Grogu is still developmentally a child. Also, this is due to how slowly his species matures.
He was born around the year 41 Before the Battle of Yavin (BBY). In the Star Wars timeline, the events of “The Mandalorian” take place about five years after “Star Wars. “Return of the Jedi,” which the creator set in 4 After the Battle of Yavin (ABY). This would mean “The Mandalorian” is set in 9 ABY. If Grogu is 50 years old, then he would be born in 41 BBY.
Is Grogu Yoda?
According to the events of “The Mandalorian” so far, Grogu and Yoda are not the same characters. They are simply from the same species. The name of this species, we never knew since “Star Wars creator George Lucas wanted to give Yoda a sense of mystery.
Grogu’s physical appearance is similar to Yoda, the legendary Jedi Master from the “Star Wars” films. This sparked his fan-given colloquial nickname “Baby Yoda.”
Within “Star Wars” media, Grogu is the youngest member of Yoda’s species. He is one of three featured characters from this species. The other is Yaddle, the only other adult and female member of Yoda’s species. She appeared in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” and “Tales of the Jedi.”
