Denise Russo, a reality TV star best known for starring in VH1’s “The X-Life,” has passed away at 44 from undisclosed causes.
However, the actress was reportedly discovered unresponsive Sunday on the floor of her friend’s apartment. In San Diego, law enforcement officers told TMZ.
So, first responders attempted to revive Russo but to no avail as she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
While her cause of death remains unclear, authorities reportedly found drug paraphernalia at the scene.
Meanwhile, Russo’s pal and former “X-Life” castmate Susie Stenberg told the outlet that Russo was living in her car at the time of her death and had contacted Stenberg the night before to tell her she loved her.
Stenberg described Denise as the most “the most loving and loyal person.”

Denise Russo, formerly a cast member on the VH1 reality show. “The X-Life,” media found her unresponsive and pronounced dead in California earlier this week. She was 44.
Therefore, TMZ was among the first to report news of Russo’s death. Citing law enforcement sources and former “X-Life” cast member Susie Stenberg. As she described Russo as “the most loving and loyal person.”
Also, a press release from the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office identified her. They found Russo unresponsive on March 5 at a friend’s home in San Diego. Emergency responders performed “aggressive attempts” to resuscitate her but ultimately pronounced her dead at the scene.
The manner of death is currently under investigation. Though the Medical Examiner’s office noted the discovery of drug paraphernalia in the home.
Russo was among the main cast members of the 2011 VH1 reality series.“The X-Life,” which followed the lives of three extreme athletes and their respective partners. Russo alongside then-boyfriend and Canadian professional skateboarder Pierre-Luc Gagnon.
The Reality Star Participated in an Ink Magazine Cover Model Competition Recently
Following her stint on The X-Life, Russo turned toward modelling. However, her Instagram profile shows that she had recently completed becoming an Ink Magazine cover model. So, one of her posts reads, “Please remember to keep voting for me on the Inked website as the next cover girl.”
Denise also stated one thing. If she wins the competition, she will use the $25,000 cash prize to ‘build a foundation to reconnect with my son’. She added, “The money would help bring stability in life to reunite us.” The reality star shared a close bond with her son and often posted about him on social media.
“To my Lion Wolf, you are the reason the sun shines bright in the sky, why the moon glows. Leo, you are why the world is good and magical. Thank you for being my son and my cub. Love of my life, no one compares to you,” read one of her posts.
Therefore, in an interview with a magazine, the model said, “I love being a mom. I have an 8-year-old beautiful son named Leo Wolf, boys rule btw and he’s the light of my life. We wrestle, I do my Russian wrestler accent and body slam little mouse on the bed. Leo made life better and being his momma is a gift!”
