It’s true that they have gone through a few setbacks in season 1. For example, only Amy qualified for the surgery while Tammy Slaton failed to reach the weight-loss goal, and therefore, gained more weight.

In the second season, we saw how Tammy had to deal with yet another weight gain setback. In addition, we saw turmoil in the relationship with her boyfriend Jerry.
